Mark Fort Garden Design provides professional support for every phase of your project. We take care of everything, from providing advice at the outset to providing support after completion.

Garden and landscape design

We believe that each garden we design should, primarily, reflect the wishes of the client but, in order to be effective a good design should also be:

• harmonious, reflecting it's surroundings. An urban garden will therefore have a different look and feel to a country garden. Also, a small garden, close to a house is likley to have a more urban feel than a large garden will. With  a larger garden there is the room to create different rooms or to experiment with a journey from the urban (the house) to a more informal feel further away from the main residence.
• manageable - not everyone is a budding gardener! however, many of my clients have expressed little interest in gardening at the outset of their project but, they soon become hooked!

Implementation

The success of this stage depends on the qulaity of the contractor chosen to undertake the hard landscaping (building of walls, laying of paths and patios and the building or erection of other features) and a willingness to employ the designer to liaise with the contractor to ensure the vision becomes a reality.

Planning Consents:

Very often, planning consent for new developments ask for a plan for the landscape. We are able to offer advice, a report writing service and drawn plans for the devolopment of a landscape to meet the requirments of local planning departments.

Planting Schemes:

From the simple re-juvenation of a border to a large scale planting scheme we have the ideas and access to plants that will help to make your garden a pleasure. Using plants we can create secluded areas, colourful and vibrant borders and areas that are calm and serene.

We are also well versed in rural planting schemes and the requirments of the various farmland schemes that are in operation. Indeed, we can offer clients environmental surveys and reports via a qulified ecologist.

Plants:

Through our links with the wholesale horticultural trade we ar able to offer access to a wide range of trees, shrubs, herbaceous plants seeds and bulbs in a plethora of sizes- almost anything in fact that will grow in our climate!
